CAPTAIN DUNNE is a standing dish in this race having already run in it four times. He beat his stablemate Confessional narrowly in 2011 and though well behind shock winner Stone Of Folca last year he's dropped a massive 10lb and ran very well on his reappearance at Chester. He's handed the vote though fellow Yorkshire raider Smoothtalkinrascal deserves a chance in this top handicap after proving his worth at York and will enjoy the softer ground better than most. Duke Of Firenze scored at Goodwood and though beaten subsequently at York he had a desperate run throughout and will be well supported to make amends. David Barron is a master at training sprinters so watch out for Long Awaited, who scored here in August and has won first time back in the last two seasons so an absence is no concern at all.
