    Verdict

COSSACK PRINCE is taken to land this handicap for the Mongans, while Agente Romano is likely to figure prominently. The selection is just 1lb higher than his best winning mark, and acts well both on fast ground and over 1m 4f. He is a thoroughly consistent performer and if he produces his usual effort then he looks good enough. Agente Romano remains a maiden after 11 starts and should be very competitive from today's mark. Stamina is his forte, he acts on the ground and that first success appears to be just around the corner. Sinbad The Sailor looks well treated here judged on his Doncaster win last year, but he looks a doubtful stayer if this is anything like a truly run race. Watson's Bay is a victim of his own consistency. He regularly makes the frame but the handicapper won't relent, and in fact he has made today's task even harder by putting him up by 3lbs. Augustus John looks in need of a drop in the weights to win on turf and we will side with Cossack Prince.
