Verdict

The second fillies' classic of the season can go to RUMOUSH, although in Aviate, Sajjhaa, Ceilidh House and Timepiece she faces stiff competition. Marcus Tregoning's filly won her sole start as a juvenile before returning with an impressive display in the Feilden Stakes at Newmarket. That performance marked her out as one to consider in the 1000 Guineas but she was undone by the draw that day and had to settle for seventh behind Special Duty. The form of that contest has been franked by the subsequent success of the winner and this daughter of Rahy shaped as though she'd improve for stepping up in trip, a notion supported by her pedigree as she's from the family of Derby winner Nashwan. With ground conditions expected to pose no problem she gets the vote in an open renewal. Aviate is likely to start favourite for the contest having won the Musidora at York last time, in the process advertising a telling turn of foot. This unbeaten daughter of Dansili must be respected, hailing as she does from the yard of Henry Cecil, but there remain slight concerns as to her ability to see out the distance and she's reluctantly opposed with that in mind. Sajjhaa only made her debut in late May but the manner of her success at Sandown cannot be underestimated. That was over 1m2f but she's bred to appreciate this step up in trip and her trainer sent out Hala Bek to take an unlucky fourth in the Derby won by Sir Percy having only had the one start prior to it. With that in mind she simply has to be respected, although if the ground continues to dry out her chance would likely diminish. Ralph Beckett sent out Look Here to win this race in 2008 and in Ceilidh House he has another contender. She was ultimately well held at Lingfield last time but that race was run at a break-neck gallop and she can prove better than the bare form in time, but she'll do well to reverse form with Timepiece who finished second that day. The last named cannot be underestimated having worked well with Derby fancy Bullet Train in the run up to this race; she spent the winter as favourite and it'd be no surprise were she to bounce back from that surprise defeat and further enhance Henry Cecil's record in the race. Anything saddled by Aiden O'Brien has to be respected and with Johnny Murtagh preferring Remember When she's likely to attract a fair amount of support. That said, this daughter of Danehill Dancer hasn't yet won a race and despite the fact she's related to Arc winner Dylan Thomas she can be opposed here. Stablemates Awe Inspiring and Cabaret are also taken on, with Akdarena making more appeal for each-way backers. Jim Bolger knows what he has when he has it and his filly has progressed rapidly this term. She appears to appreciate the likely conditions and can't be ruled out, especially if the first-time visor brings about further improvement. Gertrude Bell is in the right hands to progress and won well at Chester but she's got more improving to do to take this, with Rumoush taken to land the Investec Oaks.
