In depth

Verdict

This could concern recent winners Patterdale, Glebe Garden and Landucci, with the last named just having the edge. This John Hills trained colt was successful on soft ground recently, beating Prime Offer in a classified event at Brighton. The trainer believes he is a much better horse on firmer ground, so he could turn out to be very well handicapped. Patterdale landed a Brighton maiden with the minimum of fuss, but the proximity of the lowly rated runner-up does put a question mark over the form. Glebe Garden got the better of Mugeba at Yarmouth last month and wasn't disgraced at the same track next time when runner up to Princess Galdriel. Of the others, Richard Fahey makes the long journey south with Little Jimbob, so this one must also enter calculations, however there should be a lot more to come from Landucci who is our confident choice.
