In depth

Verdict

Though withdrawn at Doncaster on Wednesday, there can’t have been much wrong with DANNY KIRWAN and he should take all the beating here if making his reappearance. A prolonged absence is a slight concern but his second to Angel’s Breath in a Grade 2 at Ascot last season is a cut above anything achieved by his rivals. Butterwick Brook has a penalty for winning at Taunton and that should allow third Percy Pops to get closer. Big Bresil has placed in a point and a bumper and a switch to hurdles should suit while Honest Exchange was a dual winner between the flags and is also interesting.
