In depth

Verdict

Despite having to give weight all round Double Honour looks a good thing in this weak-looking novice hurdle. Described by Richard Johnson as the best flat rated horse he has ridden and thought to have plenty of potential. He should progress from his recent Huntingdon win on ground which will be very much to his liking. West Paces has been showing up well in recent gallops and has chosen this rather than a longer trip at Kempton today. A market move would be significant but he would need to be special to win this on his debut. Most of the others are well exposed. King Harald has each-way possibilities though he will need to settle better than he did last time out at Doncaster. There will be interest in Encore Cadoudal who has progressed nicely over time though he may be the type to do better in handicaps in the future.
