In depth

Verdict

A very open seller to start proceedings and a narrow vote is given to Brilliant, Champagne Rossini and Queen Tara look to be the main dangers. The selection was beaten out of sight behind Nike Walker in a similar contest last time but that was on heavy ground. His flat form in Germany suggests this faster surface should be more suitable and he is a hopeful choice in a very weak affair. Champagne Rossini is still a maiden under all codes but has been placed often enough in these sort of races to be given a squeak this afternoon. Queen Tara's course and distance success in February brings her right into the argument and Discomania cannot easily be ruled out on past performances. So caution is advised when betting in this opener and Brilliant is just a token selection.
