Verdict

Vasco Du Mee bids to repeat last year’s success under Josephine Banks, though has 4lb more to carry. A winner at Leicester and Catterick around this time last year, CARLTON RYAN ran a cracker on his reappearance under Rules at Musselburgh when only beaten a length by the useful Wonderful Charm - any improvement on that would make his hard to beat. Warden Hill and Wild Bill both arrive off the back of recent wins between the flags and would have every chance on past form while Mr Madeit beat Master Workman here just under a year ago but hasn’t raced since second at Warwick last April. Popaway has been a grand servant but Pauline Harkin’s mare may find a few of these too strong.
