Verdict

PUZZLEMASTER may be worth an interest in an interesting opener where Do Be Brave and Surprise Party are others that make some appeal of those with experience. Some big yards are represented here but Ausonius and Gesseem will need to leave their debut form behind if they are to feature. Market support for Castlemaine would ensure that many punters wouldn't give a four x for anything else given the season that her handler has enjoyed but she may be more of a three year old. Of more interest is Blue Tango as Amanda Perrett's juveniles are worth following at present and that Newbury race appeared to be a fair contest. Do Be Brave shaped nicely at Kempton and is by a stallion whose progeny have made a great start on the track; he could go well but the yard has only had one winner in this division. It's been profitable to follow Jack Mitchell and Chris Wall this summer and Surprise Party has leading form claims but we're going to take a chance with Puzzlemaster. Further rain should prove no hindrance to his chances and he made a pleasing debut in a fair race at Pontefract and should improve for this step up in trip. Trying to predict the best place to be drawn may prove fruitless but Puzzlemaster may provide the answer.
