In depth

Verdict

BATELEUR has the plum draw here and he can make it count at the main expense of Great Knight and Silver Prelude. The selection was denied a clear run at Lingfield last time, but he still wasn't beaten far and with conditions in his favour today he looks to hold solid claims with a very capable apprentice on board. Silver Prelude looks the obvious danger as he ran well for a long way at Kempton last time before fading close home. The yard are very shrewd so if the market speaks in his favour then it could pay to take the hint. Great Knight got his head in front two starts ago, and although he was disappointing last time out, he did go close when last seen at this venue back in June. Towy Boy has a good draw and a useful pilot on board so he can go well at a price. However, for the winner we will stick with Bateleur.
