Verdict

Aidan O'Brien has won the last three and BROOME can keep up the sequence. The son of Australia didn't attract much attention in the race won by odds-on stable companion Anthony Van Dyke at Killarney and missed the break but ran on steadily at the finish and will know much more here. The stable is also represented by The Corporal, who has a very strong middle-distance pedigree so may do better next year, a remark that also applies to Fassbender. Lightning Amber has looked as though this extra furlong was required in both starts so she is respected with her allowance while Patriot's Day, a half-brother to three winners, will definitely improve for his run at Killarney where he looked very inexperienced. Calorific represents the in-form Joseph O'Brien and the son of Aussie Rules out of a winning miler should be ideally suited by this trip.
