      Verdict

Little to choose between the principals in a fascinating renewal of this prestigious event but marginal preference is for Redback. The three-year-old has proved himself a tough and consistent performer and followed a fine third in the 2,000 Guineas by finishing a close runner-up over 7f here at the Glorious meeting. This bold front runner will take plenty of pegging back with so many hold up horses in opposition. Where Or When appreciated a drop in class to score readily over this C&D last time and merits respect while both Tillerman and Reel Buddy possess a turn of foot and are capable of going close if getting the strong pace they need to show their best.
