A competitive sprint, in which we will select Guildenstern ahead of, mainly, Presto Shinko, Idle Power, Sir Edwin Landseer, Sir Desmond and Goodenough Mover. It is dangerous to let too much sentiment come into betting but the selection has done us proud this year, winning three times. He looked as though he needed the run last time - and maybe failed to stay anyway - but, with that under his belt, he can show his true colours today. Obvious dangers are recent Windsor winner Presto Shinko, Smokin Beau - if at his best, although recent efforts have not been great in this respect - Idle Power, who loves it here and just holds Sir Edwin Landseer on recent course and distance form, King's Caprice, who is back to a winning mark, admittedly over seven furlongs, but whose stable won this last year with Marker, Goodenough Mover, who is racing from a competitive mark, recent winner Bond Boy, who has won over course and distance, and Sir Desmond, who is back to a winning mark. The others need career bests to score, which is entirely possible, of course. For us, though, Guildenstern gets the nod.
