TRIP TO PARIS has improved out of all recognition and may have been chasing a six-timer but for failing to obtain a clear run at Sandown on his penultimate start. He won't mind the ground and, though penalised for his Ascot Gold Cup victory, probably still has some more improvement in him. Simenon has been a standing dish in these races for many years and is generally thereabouts. He's been behind the selection in his last two starts but has a decent weight pull and looks a live threat. Big Orange dropped back to 1m4f to gain a surprise victory in the Princess Of Wales's Stakes at Newmarket and has never entirely convinced over this sort of trip, but if the ground turned heavy then Pallasator would enter the equation after his excellent third behind Forgotten Rules in the Champions Long Distance Cup.
