Verdict

The Drunken Dr's fourth place behind Zoffany at Leopardstown wasn't a bad debut effort but he faces some very choicely-bred youngsters here including three from Coolmore, who have won this seven times in the past 10 years. With Johnny Murtagh at Newmarket Seamus Heffernan would probably have had the pick though his mount Jackaroo is by Galileo and will be better suited by further in time, a remark that also applies to the stable's Eskimo, another son of Galileo. The third representative, ALEXANDER POPE, is by Danehill Dancer out of a mare who won as a juvenile and is related to the top-class sprinter Superstar Leo. Oor Jock has plenty of pace in his pedigree while Beart is out of a mare who won over 7f as a two-year-old.
