Poppy Seed, Humidor and The Confessor make the shortlist here with POPPY SEED taken to confirm the promise shown on his debut as a juvenile. The Confessor has the benefit of experience and has shaped well, notably when placed at Pontefract last time. He has run consistently to date, but may be vulnerable to a classier type. Humidor has shown ability in his two latest starts, not beaten far in a tight finish on his latest start. He looks a real threat, but he was staying on over this trip last time, and may need further to be seen to best effect. Richard Hannon has had a fine start to the campaign, and Poppy Seed was not seen since her debut at Newbury last year, where she showed good pace to lead two furlongs out before fading. She was not unfancied that day, and given a year to strengthen, Poppy Seed can prove too good for the opposition.
