In depth

Verdict

An unfeasibly trappy affair in which MADDY is the most token of picks against Marie Tempest and Ocean Pride. Although exposed as plating class, George Baker's charge put up one of her better efforts at Southwell last time out and over what appears to be her ideal trip, we are prepared to chance her at the likely odds. Marie Tempest was disposed of cheaply from the Barry Hills stable but Martin Bosley has managed to get two near misses from her so she has to be worthy of a look if the market confidence is there. Ocean Pride coped admirably over an inadequate trip at Kempton and has to have solid claims on that evidence alone. Competitor has lost his way though has retreated down the handicap accordingly. Tarkamara was once rated in the 80's before eventually getting the winning habit off 45 in a Lingfield classified stakes. Golden Brown does not win that often but is consistent and it would be no surprise to see any each-way support in the betting ring. It would be no surprise to see the car park empty by this point so Maddy can only be recommended to minimal stakes.
