In depth

Verdict

Kyllis, Coleorton Dancer and Yorkshire Blue are the trio to make the shortlist, with Coleorton Dancer looking capable of carrying a big weight to victory. Kyllis hails from an in form yard and ran well last time at Catterick. Sent off an unconsidered outsider, she led at the furlong pole but weakened in the closing stages to finish third. Dropped back a furlong here, Kyllis carries bottom weight and looks sure to go close. Yorkshire Blue is rated five pounds lower than when last successful over this course and distance. He shaped reasonably well here on Sunday but the ground is drying out all the time and he can also run well. Coleorton Dancer has not won since his juvenile days when he ran up a four timer. However, he comes here on the back of a close fourth over the minimum trip at Ripon, beaten only a length, staying on at the finish. A pound higher here, Coleorton Dancer can make a belated return to the winners' enclosure.
