Verdict

Bumper winner Jonny Delta never figured on his debut on the Flat, but better is expected from Donnaconna and Walleyd stepping up in trip. Abdicate finished a close-up fourth at Beverley on her only run last season and should figure on her reappearance along with Yarmouth runner-up Little Rocky. The latter also has to come into the reckoning on his return to action, but AL BURKAAN is the speculative selection. Third behind subsequent Lowther Stakes runner-up Margot Did on his debut, this longer distance will suit and one of Ed Dunlop's rare runners here won this race in 2008.
