In depth

Verdict

Nine Stories gets the confident nomination here over McCartney and Shannersburg. The selection showed a good attitude when chasing Tamara Moon at Catterick last month and this colt from the Howard Johnson yard looks to have been found a really good opportunity here to get his head in front. McCartney is certainly of interest as he was a good third behind Better Hand on his debut when he showed plenty of early speed. He is sure to benefit from the experience and will give our selection plenty to think about. Shannersburg did not do a lot wrong when chasing home Relinquished last time and his yard do well with their 2-year-olds so it shouldn't be too long before he is winning races. Rio Novo and World Tour are interesting newcomers who are worth a look in the market, but they will have to be decent to win this and we prefer the claims of Nine Stories who looks a solid bet.
