In depth

Verdict

A competitive little handicap with a number of course specialists to choose from including King of Paradise, who will bid to secure a hat-trick under rising apprentice Jason Hart. Eric Alston's charge is stepped up in trip in order to take his chance but he may find BOTHAM too good. Like his cricketing namesake, there are plenty of fours and sixes on his scorecard but the eight-year-old put up a solid effort at the course last month and has actually been dropped by the handicapper since. Lady Jock is thrust into handicaps for the first time and the market will give us a fair idea of what to expect. Double Cee represents the stable that won this last season and his run at Chester can be safely disregarded.
