In depth

Verdict

Riponian made all over 7f at Musselburgh and has a course and distance victory to his credit so can go well from a 4lb higher mark. Almuhalab gained his only victory to date on that track but his best form has been on faster ground than heis likelyface here. New Abbey Angel is consistent enough at this level but has looked a few pounds high lately while Indian Giver ran poorly at Carlisle, though had performed much better on her previous start on this track. Madam Mai Tai won over 7f on soft ground at Ayr but has failed to inspire when tackling this longer trip so it's TED'S BROTHER who is handed the vote. Richard Guest's veteran gained the 10th victory of his career over this trip on soft going at Ayr before possibly finding very fast ground against him here next time and is well enough treated to score again.
