      Verdict

      MR WOLF looks likely to gain an early lead and it might be enough to see off Musical Bridge and Mandarin Spirit. The evergreen veteran is at his best when able to dominate and while he is yet to win at Hamilton Park; he could make up for the lost time here. Musical Bridge has been a credit to his connections though has gone up plenty for his consistency. Mandarin Spirit could be the one to prosper if the others go off too quickly. Hazelrigg has been placed twice off today's mark and is sure to be thereabouts again. Wicked Wilma and Ask Jenny are not the most frequent of winners though both mares have finished close up of late. Jim Goldie won this race last year and he is represented by Barraland. The hope is that the blinkers work for the first time. Mr Wolf is an admirable old campaigner and he could add to his impressive tally tonight.
