Verdict

Another small field here, and we think that ARGENTINE can make up for losing last time out when aiming for a four-timer, although Rothesay Dancer, and Silvanus are also respected. Argentine narrowly missed out when carrying a double penalty last time out; he's still got one to carry, as has Silvanus, but being turned out again quickly before a rise in his mark could pay dividends here. Two of his recent wins were here, one over this trip and one over six furlongs, and he's certainly relished his recent change of yard. He's towards the bottom of the weights here, and although it's not a great draw, that may not be a handicap in a small field, and he looks a pretty confident selection. Rothesay Dancer has previously finished ahead of Argentine twice in the last couple of years, but more recently showed great improvement to be placed in a listed contest at Ayr at a massive price. Kelly Harrison's going for her only ride of the night, and her claim keeps him competitive as top weight. Silvanus won last time out with a front-running display in a lesser contest than this. This may be a step up too much though, as that was his only turf career win to date, although Ian Semple's string are in fine form. Bo McGinty was third in a better race at Beverley on Tuesday, but our preference is for Argentine.
