In depth

Verdict

Linda Perratt's Mandarin Spirit gained a well deserved success when landing a sprint handicap over the minimum trip at Musselburgh last week and he has every chance of winning again but a 6lb penalty may anchor him and preference is for stable companion CAYMAN FOX, who showed improved form when narrowly beaten over course and distance on Monday and he can go one better racing off the same mark today. Perratt is also represented by Berbice but he is hard to recommend and of more interest may be Ann Duffield's Angelo Poliziano, who has run up to a decent level of form in recent starts but has been punished by the handicapper as a result.
