In depth

Verdict

A small field but a fascinating contest nonetheless with only Dbass Accountants seemingly out of it. Easy Mate landed a handicap over this trip at Galway before flopping on faster ground over 1m6f at Killarney where he finished 12th of 14 behind Top Spin. Myrine, whose distance victory at Ballinrobe last month is beginning to look more like a fluke, was just in front of Easy Mate at Killarney though she too wasn't suited by the quick going. Salesin was no slouch on the Flat but has been a revelation over jumps this year winning her last three races by a combined total of 35 lengths. She must have an excellent chance of continuing her winning run though FOSTERS CROSS has a much higher rating over hurdles and is also in good form, albeit over fences. Thomas Mullins' charge had some fair bumper form at the beginning of his career and is taken to make a winning start under Flat rules.
