In depth

Verdict

We like the look of Violette and Maggies Farm here, with the vote going to Violette. Violette showed promise before racing in Group company last time, where she wasn't disgraced when seventh in the Princess Margaret Stakes. With that being a reasonable effort, she has to to hold every chance here, but Maggies Farm, who won well on her Pontefract debut - and the fourth from that race has won since - is very much respected too. Lady Cree failed to build on her maiden win at Newbury last time, while Blades Girl is very well purchased at 1,800 guineas and she scored decisively from the worst of the draw and despite running green at Ayr on her debut. She could bag some money, while Ebonywood showed plenty of promise on her debut in what was a decent maiden, so is respected, but, much as Sleeping Storm has shown promise, she needs to better what she has so far achieved to play a major part here. All of which returns is to the selection, which is Violette.
