        Verdict

        We are going to row in with Sawwaah in the Lester Piggott Rated Stakes, with Langford, Acombe, Tough Love and Soller Bay others to consider. The selection won from a three-pound lower mark last season but it was the manner of his run at Goodwood last time that really caught the eye. He repeatedly met trouble when travelling extremely well and left the impression that he would have gone close with a clear run. If that view is right, he looks set to run a big race today. Much as the handicapper has had his say now with Langford, he came good again in a Classified Stakes race last time, when hold-up tactics were applied. He should give you a run for your money again, as should course and distance winner Soller Bay, although that win, much as it was achieved from a one-pound higher mark, came on heavy going. The handicapper has also had his say with Acombe who has been raised 10lbs for two wins. Much as he has been beaten from his revised mark, he will appreciate today's mile trip better than the 10 furlongs he ran over last time. Tough Love can be given a chance based on the fact that he is a course and distance winner from a two-pound lower mark than his current rating. However, the downside is that he has been very disappointing since that victory but the upside is that he has been dropped nine pounds since the start of the season. You could not rule out a good run from Nimello if he's on top of his game, but Namroud and Impersonator have become disappointing. This brings us back, once again, to the selection, which is Sawwaah.
