    Verdict

It will be a shock if MAQARAAT can't lose his maiden tag here. Barry Hills' colt, runner-up to Glen's Diamond in Chester's Group 3 Dee Stakes, was long odds-on when occupying the same spot behind Hunter's Light at Newmarket but the winner is probably more than useful and there looks nothing of his calibre here. Palagonia is the type to improve this season and made a nice start on the all-weather at Lingfield in December. Dollar Deal was beaten a long way on his debut at Newmarket last month and will probably need more time while Secret Era may need this as she hasn't been seen since her debut at Wolverhampton in October.
