      Verdict

      RIDGE RANGER landed a gamble in good style at Nottingham two weeks ago. On 4lb better terms, connections of runner-up Marsh Hawk and fourth Imtiyaaz will fancy their chances of turning the tables but Eric Alston's mare can come out on top again. Interception has the highest official rating but has yet to win outside of handicap company. However, she ran some fine races last year, including when beaten under a length in this, and shouldn't be far away. The three-year-old Thetis has come up against smart fillies in both starts since winning a Carlisle maiden in September and should be back in the winner's enclosure soon.
