Verdict

A poor entry numerically but definitely not in terms of quality. SILVINIACO CONTI beat Long Run in this in 2012 and Menorah last year. In between he was beaten into third behind Cue Card but both victories were gained after having had a previous run, as he has had this time. A wonderful servant, he only just held on from Ballynagour and Holywell in the Betfred Bowl at Aintree when his jumping just gained the day. The placed horses are perfectly capable of reversing the form at their best but both, along with Dynaste, finished behind Cue Card in the Charlie Hall. Dynaste has finished behind the selection four times in the last two years but Cue Card was returning to his very best at Wetherby after breathing problems last season and will ensure the selection has a hard time in what should be a cracking contest.
