In depth

Verdict

Berlusca ended a long losing run with a convincing three-length success over track and trip and Rossa Ryan’s allowance reduces a 7lb rise. Ventura Gold came good on Turf for the first time when winning over 1m1f at Musselburgh and should go well again while Broken Force gave notice of a big run with a placed effort here last week off today’s mark. But LONG SOCKS is the least exposed and, with improvement expected for a recent comeback fourth at Wetherby on his handicap debut, it’s Alan King’s charge that gets the nod.
