In depth

Verdict

Red Dahlia could be well treated and is taken to win this handicap hurdle with Alva Glen, Adiysha and Precious Lady all worth consideration. Mark Pitman's charge has not had a great introduction to the racing game with numerous mishaps including falls and wayward efforts. But the penny finally dropped and her recent third behind Correct And Right at Towcester proved she has ability and improvement is on the cards. She has a great racing weight, a top jockey in Timmy Murphy on board and is sure to go very close. Alva Glen won three times on the flat but is taking his time to win over hurdles. He's run some sound races in defeat, comes from a top yard in Venetia Williams but has top weight to contend with so place prize money may be on the cards. Adiysha's run at Fakenham last October puts her in with an each way chance but having not been seen since November she may strip fitter after today's run. Precious Lady ran really well third time of asking when finishing second to Dominican Monk over course and distance last time out. The handicapper has taken note and she has enough weight to carry. Having said that if reproducing her last effort she will finish in the first three. To conclude then Red Dahlia is taken to score with her featherweight, with Precious Lady chasing her home.
