In depth

Verdict

Golly can be forgiven his poor performance against better company at Fontwell and bounce back to his Taunton form to take this contest with Sol Music and Breaking Breeze the main dangers. The Dai Williams-trained Golly was thrown in the deep end at Fontwell on his latest run and after a nasty looking mistake after half way was unable to recover. He is best judged on his Taunton form when beating Jupon Vert and if reproducing that level of form can win. Sol Music, who was in great form last year in hunter chases, has not has the same enthusiasm for the game this time around. Having said that, he has been running well enough to earn him a place chance as he loves fast ground and loves to dictate the pace which he may well get here. Breaking Breeze came back after nearly a two-year lay off. Pulled up first time out, then stripped fitter when third to Athnowen at Exeter on his last outing. He's still only lightly raced, has won over course and distance so has to be respected. Not an easy race to call but Golly is given a cautious nod.
