In depth

Verdict

A modest finale but one which appears to be wide-open. Five are previous course winners, though Definitely Glad, Fred Le Macon and Gunner Lindley are long-standing maidens who aren't getting any younger. Magnolia Ridge beat Definitely Glad here in May and finished ahead of Swaledale Lad last time at Sedgefield but has two ways of running. Civil Unrest never looked like winning when favourite at Bangor last month so we might take a chance on MRS GRASS. She won here in June when only 2lb lower and is Thomas Dowson's regular mount.
