In depth

Verdict

Beat The Heat, Snowy and Stan look the three to concentrate on in the opener and the vote is given to Beat The Heat. The selection won well last time out when beating Pebble Bay and although he has a penalty for that win he won with a little in hand and he is taken to defy the handicapper under conditions that suit. Snowy rates the main danger as he was a fair second behind Native Coral last time. However he tends to get outpaced at vital stages in his races before staying on and for that reason he is opposed. Stan is another worthy of respect on his win a couple of runs ago but he has since disappointed, but a return to this faster surface may bring about some improvement and he should be noted in the market. Of the remainder Noble House and Possextown are from yards in form and should be noted in the market but for the winner we return to Beat The Heat.
