In depth

Verdict

On paper this looks to be an uncompetitive contest and should go the way of Liathriodisneachta, who is preferred to Top Brass and Brave Rebellion. The selection stepped up on a promising debut effort when landing a course and distance bumper in March and provided that he is fit enough for his return then Jonjo O'Neill's gelding should be good enough to defy his penalty. Brave Rebellion also has a penalty to carry for his last time out success that also came over course and distance in March but his form does not match that of the selection. Chunky Lad makes only limited appeal on the evidence of two runs so far and of more interest may be the newcomer Top Brass, a stablemate of Brave Rebellion, who has the assistance of Tony McCoy. Liathriodisneachta sets a decent standard though and is taken to defy his penalty.
