Verdict

This is a tricky race for punters to call but we will put York Rite forward as the selection with New Perk and Usk Valley rated as the main dangers. York Rite was narrowly beaten by Red Alert Man last time at Leicester in a race where was he put into the lead too early and he idled in front and ultimately lost by a head. He is effective on today's ground and providing he sees out this longer trip he should take plenty of beating. New Perk remains a maiden but he was in the process of running a big race when he blundered badly over this course and distance last time before fading. If his confidence has not been affected by that then he should be capable of making the frame. Usk Valley was quite useful over hurdles but he has yet to translate that form to the bigger obstacles and he is probably best watched at present in this sphere. Maunby Roller looks to be well handicapped and he is another to consider, but for the winner we return to York Rite.
