In depth

Verdict

As the most experienced chaser in the field Duke Of Buckingham sets a decent standard for the rest to aim for, and he is taken to add to his victory at Warwick earlier in the month, with Maceo and Master Chief expected to give him the most to do. The seven-year-old dug very deep to get the better of the potentially useful Santenay on that occasion, and faces nothing of the class of that rival tonight. A similarly gutsy effort will be enough to see him home. Maceo hails from a yard with a solid record at the track and he is one to monitor with his engagements in the next couple of months. Master Chief and Blowing Away will need to put in vastly improved efforts to trouble the principle players.
