In depth

Verdict

Alderley Rover, Ballinderry Park and FORTYSECOND STREET are the three to concentrate on with the latter getting the nod. Alderley Rover is the first that we'll discard as he has had issues with his jumping and spoilt his chance by racing too keenly last time. He has the ability to win but still seems a shade immature and may need more time. Ballinderry Park improved for the switch to handicapping; there should be more to come from Charlie Mann's runner and he merits respect being the Lambourn handler's first runner here in five seasons but he may require a stiffer test. Howard Johnson has expressed concerns about how far forward his string is following the inclement weather but those to have run have been performing creditably in the main and there was a lot to like about the selection's winning debut over hurdles. The form of his bumper defeat has also been given a boost by the two that finished in front of him and Fortysecond Street is fancied to go in again.
