Verdict

Spinning Reel gets the vote over Lilac Star, with Clear Vision one to note. The latter has not been since finishing down the field on her debut at Lingfield last October, but is sure to have been well galloped for her return, and this well-bred filly should relish the step up to a more suitable trip. However, the fitness edge is held by the two below her on the racecard, Lilac Star and Spinning Reel. The latter caught the eye in defeat when chasing home Khun John on his Polytrack bow at Wolverhampton in October and will surely make a bold bid to go one better under Adam Kirby. Lilac Star may prove troublesome though, as she will also benefit from this extra distance, having been tapped for toe when sent off as favourite at Wolverhampton 11 days ago. The other three contenders make little appeal, and Spinning Reel should be capable of opening his account on the evidence so far.
