In depth

Verdict

A wide-open contest may go to Pharaoh Prince ahead of the likes of Majehar, Alqaayid and Miss Glory Be. The latter has been done no favours by the draw, being boxed in stall one, but she has been fancied on each of her last two outings and has been there or thereabouts, so if James Doyle can manoeuvre her into a good position early, Miss Glory Be could easily be in the shake-up. Pharoah Prince has the best draw of all though in stall 14, and his latest effort when a close second to Gallego at Wolverhampton could be good enough. That was over an extended nine furlongs and this slightly longer trip is the key. Majehar was also second over that course-and-distance last time, but in a slightly slower time than the selection. Nevertheless he is another that can go well if getting over to the far side. Alqaayid looks held by Pharoah Prince on a line through Gallego, while Indigo Sky and Good Article would have place claims if better drawn. All in all, Pharoah Prince appears to be the safest option.
