A wide-open sprint handicap can go to Imperium over Mirasol Princess, Alchera and Sweetest Revenge to name but three. Quite a few have claims on their best form but not many actually line up at the top of their game at present. However, Stef Liddiard's Imperium, winner of back-to-back races at Brighton in May, is selected in the hope that he will be more at home in this slightly lower grade affair, having been outpaced at Leicester last time. He is by no means a confident choice though, and only a small stake is advised on the nine-year-old. Mirasol Princess bids to bounce back after finishing sixth at Sandown last month. She was not beaten too far though so is worth a mention. Alchera stayed on under pressure at Carlisle and should like the track, while Sweetest Revenge may find this shorter trip a bit more to his liking after fading at Lingfield. Imperium gets the narrowest of votes.
