Verdict

DIOCLES OF ROME was sent off favourite at Newbury on his handicap debut and wasn’t beaten far despite finishing only fourth. He finished ahead of Face Like Thunder and is taken to confirm running in the process of winning this. Margie's Choice has gone backwards since making a promising debut and goes handicapping for the first time while Prime Minister is another with scope for improvement. Carlini was well beaten behind the selection last time but won at Windsor before that and sports headgear for the first-time today.
