A bold show from Willhewiz will open new avenues for the seven-year-old to explore and he is selected over Ever Cheerful, Musical Script and Strabinos King. The last named has a 6lb penalty to carry for winning at Wolverhampton eight days ago and, although respected, he has a stiff test ahead of him on these terms. Musical Script is a consistent type and is a right end of the weights for a race of this nature. However, he was well held by the selection when they met here in October and needs to improve drastically for the step up in trip. A bigger threat is posed by Ever Cheerful - an in-form rival that has solid claims in this company. Still, he has failed to go through with his effort on too many occasions for him to be the strongest recommendation. So is passed over on this occasion. With Willhewiz just edging preference. Malcolm Saunders' charge has the best of the draw and, as a proven battler, he will be very hard to beat if he gets the extra furlong tonight.
