      Verdict

Duty Free gets the nod in the finale, when Strobe, Alleviate and Cavendish are expected to spearhead the challenges from the rest. The last named was a good winner on soft ground at Warwick on his penultimate start and was far from disgraced in his follow up bid at Goodwood a fortnight ago. This surface presents a new challenge but he should be on the premises if he cope with the test. Alleviate improved for a step up in trip last time and is going the right way. Being by a Caerleon mare, she has stamina in her bloodlines and can start paying her way before too long. Strobe - a backward type according to his connections - has only just started to get the hang of things and may still have plenty to offer. However, a 7lb rise for his victory at Lingfield appears harsh and he has a bit to prove from top weight. Therefore, we take a chance that Duty Free can reverse the Lingfield form on the revised terms. A literal reading of the weights says it will be very close, but Hughie Morrison's string are absolutely flying just now and that may the crucial factor to tip the scales towards Duty Free this time.
