In depth

Verdict

A very poor race can go the way of Savoy Chapel, with Captain Bolsh, Blue Knight and Liskaveen Beauty just three others with claims. The selection is one of the more consistent horses in the lineup and a reproduction of his recent third behind Firework could be good enough to land today's contest. He likes to be held up in his race so will need the gaps at the right times, however he looks the value call in an open contest. Captain Bolsh is winless in 24 attempts but a reproduction of his last run gives him claims, along with Blue Knight who's last run can be forgotten and he can go well, although this trip stretches his stamina. Liskaveen Beauty is returning from a mini-break and can go well at a decent price if refreshed, whilst Dexileos has won around Kempton before but appears to be woefully out of form at present. If back on song he would be a danger, however for the winner we will very tentatively return to Tony Carroll's Savoy Chapel.
