In depth

Verdict

Luca Cumani's Quizzical Lady is of interest on her handicap debut, but the more experienced Let Slip is given the vote here, with the in form Marachi Band also expected to be in the shake up. Willie Jarvis's four-year-old ended last campaign with an emphatic victory at Epsom, beating the 74 rated Rock Chick by four lengths. She doesn't look badly treated on her return to handicap company and has strong claims if fit for her seasonal bow. Quizzical Lady made a winning debut at Lingfield in August, getting the hang of things late on to beat Overlord Way. The handicapper will have struggled to assess that success and she could have got in lightly. Marachi Band is in great heart following two impressive victories and should again be prominent off such a low weight. The pick of the others could be Spectral Star, but Let Slip has the best overall profile and just gets the verdict.
