In depth

Verdict

Cross The Line is given a narrow vote here, stable companion Desert Reign and Barton Sands may prove best of the others. The selection was in terrific form last season, winning a decent race at York before finishing runner up at Ayr and Lingfield. He is a very lightly raced four-year-old and so could be open to plenty of improvement and off today's mark he looks the best option. Barton Sands chased home Competitor in a Lingfield seller last time and could be on the way back to his best, he should go well from his low weight. Desert Reign should be spot on for this following two promising spins round Lingfield and the booking of Jamie Spencer could be significant. Most of the others appear somewhat out of form and so we return to Cross The Line as our idea of the winner.
