In depth

Verdict

Scarlett Heart had shown promise in maidens before running a creditable race on his handicap debut over course and distance last time and, off the same mark today, he gets the vote to open his account getting the vote ahead of Back In The Red and Ioweyou. The last mentioned has been holding his form well of late and has to be respected but may be a shade high in the weights so may be best watched. Kilvickeon has improved with each start of late but another 1lb rise since his latest start may prevent him from doing better than another placed effort. Wendy's Boy has had the three runs necessary for a handicap mark but he looks to have plenty to do at the weights, while The Tinker Man has been running well at Southwell but is not certain to appreciate the return to the Polytrack. Back In The Red should strip fitter for his outing at Catterick last time and has to be considered but Scarlett Heart has solid claims and is preferred.
